Chocolate Avocado Mousse

I’m a big fan of making something traditionally not good for your body (or your waistline), healthy. I grew up eating things that fit all of the bad categories but few of the good ones, but those foods became my comfort foods. Like my mommas chocolate cake that she made on Sunday’s, that we would dive into after church, that was comfort food.

Even though I know that a lot of the foods that gave me comfort are not good for my health, as silly as it sounds, they still hold a special place in my heart. Not so much for how they tasted but what they meant. I mean, that’s why we cook right? Not just so people will adore the way your food taste but more because it has meaning, it strikes emotion.
So, this is how I feel about sweets. I don’t love sweet things anymore but I like the idea of them. It warms my heart. And, that is what Valentine’s Day is all about. This Chocolate Avocado Mousse is full of only the good stuff and yet, still reminds me of my mommas chocolate pudding that we all loved so much. 58d12e_fe4afcb004114db5b5f472bba82f5a8b
Serves 2


1 ripe avocado
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
2 tbsp raw sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp Amazing Grass Green Superfood


Puree the avocado until smooth in a food processor fitted with the blade attachment.
Mix in the remaining ingredients and blend until incorporated. Serve in small bowls or ramekins. Store in refrigerator.
