The temperatures are rising and we are looking for any way to cool down! I think the temperature today is 100+ degrees F; Wiley came inside earlier from watering the garden and said “it’s feeling mighty southern out there!” When it’s so hot outside it’s super important to stay hydrated and be sure that we supply our bodies with the right nutrients. A really great way to do that is with fruits and vegetables that are full of water. Cucumbers and melons are both more than 90% water we have the perfect summer refresher, full of the nutrients your body longs for on hot summer days.
I’m not the biggest fan of melons so I added some citrus and ginger to spice it up a bit (literally!). Because both of the main ingredients in this recipe are majority water, they don’t have that much flavor and adding more ingredients adds flavor. You can always add kale or spinach for more nutrients but they will make the color of the juice green and I just liked the melon color of this one.
