Fall Picnic Party

October 27, 2017

This time of year is great for entertaining so when my friend Anna, of Park Avenue and I thought about hosting a party for Draper James, we knew we wanted it to err on the stress-free, simple side of entertaining and for us, it was just that.

Working with friends is just the best. Anna and I connect on a lot of levels so planning and executing this picnic was so fun. Decorating with natural elements is always my favorite way to bring life into the scene and the Draper James attire was the icing on the cake. The menu was simple: pumpkin soup, warm bread, apple cider and s’mores to finish.

Anna and I met earlier this year and have turned out to be a match made in heaven. I feel like I’ve known her my whole life and anytime we are together, we have so much fun. We both love living in Nashville for many reasons but fall is extra special. We have the opportunity to check off all of the ideal fall bucket list items like visiting the pumpkin patch, hiking trails lined with fall colors and sipping on seasonal drinks at local coffee shops. If I had to pick a favorite though, it would certainly be experiencing the leaves changing colors. There are some days when I drive through the rolling hills and the sky looks like it’s on fire. It’s stunning.

The tops that we are wearing are a part of Draper James’ new fall collection and we both agree that navy is the perfect color for this time of year. The lace details on the Meadow Vines Lace Top are really sweet and pretty, which helps add a touch of elegance to an otherwise causal outfit. Anna says she finds herself reaching for sweaters and stripes in the fall, so to her, the Stripe Mohair Sweater is a match made it heaven. She loves pairing it with jeans and tall boots, but says a flowy fall skirt, or even under a vest would go great with it too.
