Happy 2019 to you! I’m always so thrilled to be in a new year and this year is no different. As you probably know, my 2018 was one for the books as we welcomed our sweet baby Wiley James into the world. He has consumed us in the best possible way and thus, I have put all other things aside including connecting with you here.

But good news, I’m back! I have a new perspective, new intentions, new thoughts, and big dreams. I want to share a few of my thoughts and my mentality for this year in hopes that it will encourage you to be the best YOU!

When I was growing up going to church on Sunday was not only a time to worship but it was a way of life. Our Sunday schedule was created around going to church. After breakfast mom would help me pick out a pretty dress that most often had lace details and a bow in the back, we would put a little curl in my hair and when I was old enough, slipped on a pearl bracelet and necklace. We drove just down the street to church where we spent an hour of our week, giving ourselves to something else. It was just an hour but we spent so much time and effort preparing for it. On that day we put on our Sunday best.

So why did we go through all of that effort just for one hour each week? Because it’s respectful and proper and quite frankly, that’s just what you do for church. My thought is: why don’t we put on our Sunday’s best all the time? Why can’t we be our best self not just on Sunday but all the time? I can’t come up with a logical reason. So this year, I am making it my goal to be my best every day of the week. From the way I think to the way I take care of myself, I will be my best self. We all have flaws and things that might hold us back but overcoming those one day at a time is a goal that is achievable and well deserved.
