When I first started learning about living a healthy lifestyle a part of that included drinking fresh juices. I bought a juicer, lots of fruits and vegetables and started juicing. I loved knowing that I was getting real nutrients, real quick. I learned that there were pros and cons to drinking juice but, honestly, got really into the process, the benefits and the delicious juices themselves.
For the past several years, wherever we travel, I’m on the hunt for a good juice bar. Luckily, we have several here in Nashville and my new favorite is Clean Juice. They’re even based out of our home state of North Carolina. All of their juices are made of organic ingredients and taste awesome! I decided to try their one-day juice cleans and I’m glad I did.
From my experience, the best way to “get through” a juice fast is to really enjoy the juices you are drinking. From the flavors to the specific nutrition that each juice offers throughout the day, everything is a little more important when you spend a day (or more!) drinking only juice. The main goal of doing a single-day juice cleanse is to detoxify your body and start fresh. Longer juice fasts offer that same detox but can also help you to lose weight, reset your flavor pallet and include a host of other benefits.
There are six juices included in this one-day cleanse, so the guesswork is taken away. Knowing what kind of juice to drink at what time of day can be a somewhat daunting task, so I’m glad that the ground work is done for you. Each bottle is even numbered so you just can’t go wrong! The last juice of the day is a hearty, cashew milk based drink that is meant to keep you satisfied overnight until the fast is over. And, let me tell you, it is delicious!
My experience with this cleanse was great! As recommended, I had plenty of water throughout the day to prevent my stomach from feeling super empty. Luckily, I was really busy during the day that I did the cleanse so I hardly noticed that I hadn’t eaten anything. The six juices were just enough to help me feel energized. At the end of the day I wasn’t starving or exhausted but felt like I had given my body good nutrients to cleanse and recharge. Truthfully, I don’t think there is any down side of doing a one-day juice cleanse. You can convince your body that you are okay without food for one day and, by the end, your system is ready for a fresh start.
When you reintroduce food, it’s always smart to start with light, plant-based food that can be easily digested. A cleanse like this is the perfect set up for the introduction (or reintroduction) of great eating habits. It also helped to remind me to get back in the habit of drinking a lot of water throughout the day which we all know has boundless benefits. So, would I recommend this cleanse? YES! Would I do it again? DEFINITELY! Do I think you should try it? ABSOLUTELY!
