While on vacation recently in Washington, DC we visited the perfect little whole- foods eatery (and juicery). Our hotel was right in the city center so we walked most everywhere. On the first night of our trip we were walking through a new shopping district and stumbled upon Fruitive. They were closed and the time but couldn’t wait to check it out for breakfast the next morning!
Turns out, that location was brand new to the area but their mission and food seemed like it had years of perfecting. Fruitive was the first certified Green Restaurant to open in Southeast Virginia. Now they have several locations in Virginia and Washington DC.
I fell in love with the food and certainly can’t wait to go back. One of the items we ordered was a delicious plate of toast covered with some of my favorite ingredients: berries, almond butter, and honey!
Of course, I’ve had toast covered with all kinds of things but this one hit the spot! So I came home and made my own!
